“Now that you are here, stay a moment, breathe deeply, and notice your thoughts, your feelings, and the sensations in your body. Then, most importantly, listen to the messages your body is sending you. They are your inner guidance system."
About Marie Norris
"I dedicate my work today to the continuance of all things good as I strive for their peaceful upliftment."
Marie’s natural affinity with all people is evident from the moment you meet her. Authentic compassion and heartfelt understanding for anyone juggling the ups and downs of daily living, whilst endeavoring to live their best life, are what motivates her genuine desire to be of service in the helping profession as a Psychotherapist.
Born in Melbourne and a mother of two children, Marie has a thoughtful and nurturing approach that gently puts clients at ease, and provides a comfortable and encouraging therapeutic environment. Marie's focus centers on the clients, their needs and their goals. Together they work to develop a plan that will produce positive and effective change.
Marie’s emphasis is on a wellness model, concentrating on what is most right about you, rather than what is wrong. Using a non-diagnostic, non-pathological approach, Marie works with your whole self - mind, body, and spirit - to help you identify and evaluate your current challenges and create a more positive and lasting outcome.
"It is my belief that nothing happens by chance and that you are here for a reason.”
Values and Experience
"There are times in all our lives that test us and disturb us, when all we need is a little extra help."
Whether you are suffering from grief, anxiety, depression or general confusion and no longer feel aligned or content with your life’s path, Marie will work collaboratively with you to achieve positive results. With a client-focused approach and a friendly and optimistic outlook, Marie empowers you to recognize your own inner strengths and resources that will allow you to make satisfying life changes with grace and ease.
Her core belief in authentic wellness and quest for knowledge has led her on an enriching and insightful academic path – one which Marie continues to travel today.
A qualified Psychotherapist, Resource Therapist and Clinical Hypnotherapist, Marie is registered with the Australian Hypnotherapists Association (AHA), Australian Association of Clinical Hypnotherapy & Psychotherapy (AACHP) and Australasian Ego State Therapy Association (AESTA). She majored in Psychology in her undergraduate degree at university and is currently completing her Master’s degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy.
Since 1997, Marie has been studying spiritual psychology with the Movement for Spiritual Inner Awareness (MSIA) and continues to study the wisdoms of A Course in Miracles – a comprehensive self-study curriculum which examines the fundamental distinction between knowledge and perception - between what is real and what is unreal.
